Context:

To place any dangerous substance or mixture on the market, strict conformity with the rules on classification, packaging and labelling must be adhered to. The regulations that govern classification, labelling and packaging are constantly changing: substances are periodically re-evaluated (Adaptations to Technical Progress (ATP) of Regulation (EC) No.1272/2008), and the classification criteria are regularly refined (change of criteria for long-term effects in the aquatic environment by the Commission Regulation (EU) No.286/2011). The obligation to apply the new rules of classification and labelling of the CLP Regulation will apply from 01/06/2015 for mixtures.
Get ready now by taking advantage of the transitional period.

The Safety Data Sheet (SDS) is a key element in the legislation of dangerous chemicals: the format and content are defined in Annex II of the REACh Regulation. This Annex has been replaced on 01/12/2010 by Annex I of the new Commission Regulation (EU) No.453/2010 and will be replaced by Annex II of the Commission Regulation (EU) No.453/2010 from 01/06/2015. The structure of the Safety Data Sheet is modified by this REACh amendment.
Redaction of SDS requires multidisciplinary knowledge: classification, safety and risk management, (eco)toxicology, transport of dangerous goods, etc. The SDS must also be regularly updated.

At your request, A.S.C. can:

  • evaluate the physico-chemical hazards and the hazards for Human health and the Environment,
  • determine the classification of a mixture according to the "conventional" method (calculation),
  • define the labelling elements according to Directive 1999/45/EC or to CLP and according to the product type,
  • prepare the full SDS or specific sections,
  • make an update of the toxicological and ecotoxicological data of your substance or of each substance contained in your mixture,- revise the SDS or adapt it to the most recent regulations.
